About

I’m a comic book creator, freelance writer, and illustrator. My work has appeared in the Comics! The Magazine, Abercrombie and Fitch Quarterly, Top Shelf 2.0, and Fusanosuke Natsume’s World Comic Culture. I authored a popular blog, Consequential Art, on the creation of comics that was highlighted in The Comics Journal, Publishers Weekly, and The School Library Journal. I spent time in Tokyo, learning from great mangaka including Jiro Taniguchi, Katsuya Terada, Masuzo Furukawa, and Naoki Urasawa. I hold a bachelor’s degree in painting from Yale University. I was born and raised in the small town of Fort Fairfield, Maine. I spent significant periods of my life in New York, New Haven, and New Orleans. I live in Washington, DC.

If you would like to support the work I do here, please visit my Patreon or Substack. The former previews upcoming pages and process art. The latter is home to my newsletter where I share my thoughts on the craft of comics and art in general.

Connect with me below and feel free to follow me on Instagram. I am currently available for professional comics, illustration jobs and commissions.
